Christmas is a time of cheer and good wishes. If some enterprising person could set up a small business creating family DVDs, that Christmas cheer could be sent, on video, all around the world.

There really are so many different opportunities when it comes to CD and DVD Publishing systems. Whether it is the newborn baby, the wedding, or simply Christmas wishes, there is nothing like a DVD to deliver the message to love ones.

I know of two or three small operators who set up in shopping malls around this time year. They take video footage of the family wishing other family members a happy Christmas or a happy new year. The video footage is then published to DVD including a family photo printed on the face of the DVD.

The customer can then have as many copies made as they wish all ready to posted out to their loved ones.

As a reseller, find enterprising people who can produce quality finished videos and you will have found prospective new customers. With low operating costs, the cost of producing each DVD is low the opportunity for good profits is high.

There has been a big jump in the number of professional webinar managers in the market place and I can see a natural progression from providing online video copies of a webinar to providing hard copies in the form of a DVD.

All that a webinar manager needs is a good CD and DVD Publishing system and they could churn out as many copies of a particular webinar as needed. Of course, being a complete publishing system the DVD itself could be printed with the host companies logo’s and corporate information.

The question is, how do you find and then convince professional webinar managers to include a DVD service to their clients? There are two arguments that could be used. The first comes down to pure dollars. The system will quickly pay for itself and given the low operating costs, there is a good opportunity to value add to their service and increase their profits.

The second argument is the speed and ease of use. A good CD and DVD Publishing system should be easy to use and basically set and forget. Once you have everything set up, it is no different to leaving a photo copier to print off 100 copies – you can do the same with DVD’s.

If you’re a reseller, check out any webinar managers in your area. They often fall under the label of teleconference providers or teleconference managers. Target them with the right information to increase your sales of CD and DVD Publishing systems.

A recession can have unexpected outcomes when it comes to selling new products. Most businesses will buy equipment – if they need it – since it adds to their ‘asset’ base. Sure, it gets depreciated over time, but it still remains as an asset.

What is important to most business owners are the operating, or running costs and it is those operating costs that will determine whether or not the new equipment is purchased.

If you compare CD and DVD Publishing systems, some can use generic supplies such as ink; others require the use of branded supplies. The cost difference can be huge. There seem to be a lot of paper printers selling for less than $100. The problem with many of these printers is that they require branded ink cartridges that $40+ dollars. Generic printer cartridges can sell for less $20 – some as cheap as $10. That is a huge saving if you can use the generic cartridges.

The Nexis 100AP CD/DVD Publisher doesn’t require branded consumables. Generic consumables work extremely well and are at a much lower cost to branded consumables. This is an important factor that needs to be included in any selling spiel.

The recession will cause businesses to tighten their belts; just remember it is the daily running costs that will determine sales – sell those points and you will increase your sales.

Before embarking on a career as a reseller you need to ensure that the products you are selling are the best in their market area. By best I don’t mean most expensive. The term best refers to the combination of quality, buy price and running cost and matching the results to buyer resistance.

Buyer resistance is the point where quality and costs fail to result in sales. Too many resellers look at buy price as being the most important factor. For many customers cost may well be the determining factor, however given the choice between two products, one of which is cheap to buy, has high running costs and dubious quality; and a second product that is a little more expensive to buy, has lower running costs, and is of superior quality; most buyers will select the latter.

As a reseller you need to research the buyer resistance patterns to ensure the products you source will sell in your market area. One of the benefits of Xlnt products like the Nexis 100AP CD/DVD Publisher is that it comes at a competitive price, is fairly cheap in operating costs, and has a good reputation for quality. This combination means the product is highly marketable in almost all locations and gains a lot from positive word of mouth type advertising.

Many of the cheaper products often end up suffering from a negative word or mouth process that eventually brings sales to a halt.

Source the best products for your market area and you find life as a reseller much easier.

I guess a year book isn’t a year book unless it’s on paper, however, how long does paper last? DVDs certainly have a much longer life span – they are certainly more novel than the traditional year book.

You can use your own imagination. Think about what a DVD version of a year book can provide that the paper based one can’t. A paper based year book can have photo’s. For example, a photo of the cheers squad, or the football team, or even an action shot of a basketballer going the slam.

The DVD of course, rather than photos, can show the action. The cheer squad going through its favorite routine. A set play from the football team, or a full court press resulting in a rim hanging dunk. Producing DVDs using a CD and DVD Publishing system would ultimately be easier than producing the print version. I have seen printing costs where the production of a finished year book cost around $9 per book. Burning and printing your own DVD can be done at almost half that cost.

Now that’s a year book to treasure. It’s more than just a book of photos, it’s living breathing document that will last for years. As a reseller, you need to sell those benefits to whomever is responsible for the production of the year book – often the school council. If you can convince them to product a year book on DVD, it will be the talk of the school – and a yearbook certainly worth keeping. Of course their is one problem to consider. How do you sign a DVD?

One of the most interesting changes that I am seeing on the internet at present is the move away from supplying E-books online. More and more publishers are looking to mail out hardcopies in the form of CDs or DVDs.

There are probably several reasons behind this move. Some web sites are offering a full collection of training videos and little or no cost as long as you sign up for a newsletter or email mailing list. I have a feeling the addition of your postal address may mean that your name is added to conventional mailing list as well. I may of course be wrong, and as a reseller yours is not to question why. Making the sale is the ultimate goal.

For these online publishers, the CD and DVD Publishing system could be ideal. To begin with, it is versatile. It can publish either CDs or DVDs. Secondly is the speed. These units can be published as quickly as they are required.

There is one other important consideration. This type of marketing can be hit and miss. Rather than having 100 units printed and ready to go, the online publisher can simply burn and print one or two copies at a time depending on the demand. Furthermore, each unit can be customized to suit that particular promotion. This includes the art work on the face of the CD or DVD.

Market the CD and DVD Publishing system to fill a need. If there is no apparent need, point out the obvious. Sometimes online publishers are not even aware of how easy it is to customize their products. You need to show them how.

So you are now a reseller of the Nexis 100AP CD/DVD Publisher. What features are you going to promote? Silly question? No! Many resellers focus on a feature and they push it to death not realizing they are losing sales by focusing to closely on the one area.

Your first step in selling a CD and DVD publisher is to access the needs of the potential customer. If they are IT savvy then promoting the ease of use will not be a strong selling point.

On the other hand, when money is tight and businesses are on a budget, generic inexpensive consumables may be one of the best features to promote.

As a reseller your hardest task is not in the selling of the products, it is assessing the needs of the prospective customers. Understanding what makes your customer tick can open the door to the features you need to promote to them. Promote the right features and that sales door opens.

Customers are no different to you or I. If a product doesn’t fill a need then we will not buy it. Create a need, or show that a need exists and the reverse becomes the case.

The best salespeople in the world are those that can quickly assess a sales situation, understand the prospective customer, then modify their sales pitch to suit that situation. What are you going to promote? What the customer needs to hear – that’s what.

Boarding schools need to promote themselves and in the past it has involved printing color brochures which show still images of the boarding school.

By using the Nexis 100AP CD/DVD Publisher they can product real time videos of various aspects of campus life. Whether it is the accommodation, dining areas or libraries; the classrooms, computer rooms or science labs; the sporting fields, swimming pools, or theatrical performances; these can all be filmed and edited together to make a professional looking DVD that can promote the school as a whole.

The actual cost of producing the DVD is minimal over the long run. Each DVD can be produced for a couple dollars, which, when you compare the quality and the information it provides, is far more valuable than a color brochure.

Teachers and students are able to express themselves in words, song or dance; in fact, the simple production of a professional DVD will enhance the schools image.

For resellers, providing school board members with examples or demo DVDs can be real winners. Sell the image of the school – how well prospects students and parents will view the school simply because it has a promotional DVD. Get the students to put it together through their media studies and they can sell the skill levels that students acquire. CD and DVD Publishing is fairly straightforward – any student can learn to do it.

The Nexis 100AP CD/DVD Publisher is perfect for any school – self promotion is only one possible use. I am sure as a reseller you can think of many more.

Sending invitations on a DVD sounds like a completely novel idea to me. It could also be a novel idea for anyone in the business of managing or coordinating parties, weddings or special events.

Image receiving an invitation from the happy couple in the form of a DVD. Rather than a card, which are quite attractive I must admit, actually hearing the happy couple invite you to attend, explaining the sequence of events, where it is going to be held – that sounds special.

As a reseller, it is your job to source out individuals who are in the business of managing or coordinating these events and selling them on idea of using a CD and DVD Publishing tool to create these invitations.

Sell the benefits, the ease of use, and of course the extra income the tool can produce and you should find a new and valuable client base.

There are many diverse uses for the CD and DVD Publishing tool – I am sure you can come up with many more uses. Sell these ideas to potential users to extend your customer base.

Being a reseller for CD and DVD Publishing systems can be difficult. You are often trying to market a product to a niche that isn’t even aware it needs the product.

Often finding the niche isn’t the difficult part. Whether it’s photographers, budding singers, Realtor’s or education facilities, convincing them of the benefits of owning and operating equipment like a CD and DVD Publishing system can be hard.

What is important is to find the angle. How is it going to improve their profit margin? This could be by increasing revenue; for example photographers to could sell completed DVDs of weddings or other functions. It maybe a case of reducing costs; for educators, producing training materials on DVD or CD may be more economical than producing reams of paper based material.

For some industries, it is not about increased sales or reduced costs directly. It is more about delivering information using modern technology. Realtors may find that distributing catalogs of homes for sale is more convenient via DVD.

As a reseller, you need to find the opportunities or the angles for these businesses. As I stated at the beginning of this post, many organizations are simply unaware of the availability of these products. Most are under the impression that professional quality CDs and DVDs need to be produced by professional houses and that the process is expensive.

Show them they can do it themselves at a fraction of the cost and they will start to open their wallets.
